Latest News

It looks like some news is leaking out from Nintendo about the Wii U before E3 rolls around.  According to the Japanese gaming magazine Anatao Damasare, the Wii U will have access to a new games on demand service tentatively titled WiiDemand.  This service will offer digital versions of retail Wii games.  Not only that, but it will also include GameCube, Dreamcast, and Saturn titles.  The first batch of available titles have also been announced, and you can see that list after the break.

The first "gameplay" trailer for Transformers: Dubstep Fall of Cybertron is here, and it looks completely (and I hate this word) epic.  It is no news to anyone that I am a huge Transformers fan, and I absolutely loved War for Cybertron.  This game makes me excited in the pants.  Transformers: Fall of Cybertron is available August 28 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

New Game of Thrones Trailer

March 30, 2012 - 7:12 am by Jeremy

If I said I wasn't excited about this game, I would be flat out lying to you.  As a big fan of the books and the HBO series, the upcoming RPG for Game of Thrones is definitely something to look forward to.  If you are unfamiliar with the series, all you really need to know is that it is violent and dirty.  That should be enough for at least some of you out there.  And you probably don't need to know much more about it to enjoy the game.

The latest batch of games that are getting their online play axed has been released by EA today, and there are a few that people are not going to be pleased about.  The biggest offender in my eyes is MMA.  That game is barely a year and a half old, but that isn't the worst part.  See, MMA required an Online Pass to play it online.  If you bought the game new, it isn't a big deal.  However, if you purchased the game used, then you needed to pay for the Online Pass separately.  The other game that is going to make people upset (including a decent number of people that I am friends with) is Burnout Revenge.  This game isn't that new, but many find it the second best Burnout game ever released (behind only Burnout 3).  Outside of those two, I don't see the rest being an issue.  The titles will be shutting down on April 13, so if you want to play them online, I suggest you do not waste any time.  Hit the jump for the list.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! It's the day where everyone pretends to be Irish by wearing green and getting drunk. Club Nintendo is even getting into the swing of things by celebrating their most famous green-clad character, Luigi. Not only is Luigi prominently features in Mario's usual spot, but all of the normally red elements have been changed to green. Even the Club Nintendo logo has Luigi's green hat in place of Mario's red one. To make things even better, they are offering a special Luigi Nintendo 3DS pouch for 450 coins. I ordered mine the instant I saw it, but ever since Super Mario Bros. 2 I have had a soft place in my heart for Luigi.  If you do too, head over to Club Nintendo and order one before they are gone!

Jet Grind Radio Headed to XBLA and PSN

February 23, 2012 - 10:22 am by Jeremy

In the greatest bit of news that I have heard in a while, Sega has released a teaser for the XBLA and PSN release of Jet Grind Radio!  No other information is known at this point, but I am a little bit nervous about the soundtrack.  The XBLA/PSN release of Crazy Taxi had the licensed music removed, and this game will lose a lot of what made it so great if that happens here.  Nonetheless, I am still super excited about this!  When this game was released, it became the reason I bought a Dreamcast.  Stay tuned for more info.

Watch the Nintendo Direct Presentation

February 22, 2012 - 7:43 am by Jeremy

Today's Nintendo Direct presentation was okay.  There wasn't much talked about that we didn't already know, but there was one nice surprise announcement, and it is something that I am very excited about.  Some of the included news was the fan selected box art for the NA release of Xenoblade Chronicles, some nice Mario Tennis revelations, and a few other release dates.  There are a few tidbits from the Japanese presentation that were left out of the presentation shown here, and those are the announcement of GameGear titles coming to the eShop, and a 3DS game that is being worked on by Sega, Capcom, and Namco Bandai.  I'm guessing we will hear more about that around E3.

I had just grabbed my 3DS to play some more Tales of the Abyss, and I saw my little blue SpotPass light.  It was a notification of a new note waiting for me in Swapnote.  After downloading my four new notes (I didn't check it at all on Monday), I noticed one of them looked a little different.  When I opened it, it had a gold border instead of the normal blue border.  I thought it would be a note from Nikki, but it turned out to be so much more important!  It was a message from Reggie Fils-Aime!  As you can see from the little bubble in the image, it also included a little audio clip from the man himself.  The Swapnote was to inform everyone of the live Nintendo Direct presentation tomorrow morning at 9 AM EST, where we will be getting some news on the Wii and 3DS.  And as a little added bonus, we got a new stationary to use.

Raise a Seaman in Your Pocket on the 3DS

February 20, 2012 - 6:43 pm by Jeremy

One of my top 10 games on the Dreamcast, as well as one of the biggest WTF games I have ever played, is reportedly making its way to the Nintendo 3DS.  According to Nikkei, Nintendo is reviving titles from the catalogs of other publishers, including Seaman.  In fact, the original creator of the game stated that could be seeing Seaman on the 3DS.  This news makes me very excited, but we don't know any details yet.  Make sure you stay tuned for more on this one.
